An example of a sql injection
Due to circumstances beyond my control (hackers using sql-injections), we have had to ditch the old deliberation theme as it has become fatally corrupted. I know this is annoying for everyone who has grown used to it, but really there is no way of going back. There were other underlying problems with the old theme which I had hoped would not cause any problems, sadly this was not the case. 
Hackers are like fleas, one expects to get them, especially when a website is as big as deliberation – 11GB +. But like fleas as long as you keep on top of them they can be managed and things can be fine. As far as I can see from my investigations the hackers just managed to corrupt the old theme, and did not do any other damage or steal any data.
People tend to get very paranoid when hackers are mentioned, whilst they can be very destructive I am not unduly worried this time as I have seem much worse hacked websites in my time. So just to let you all know what is going on in the background. If you notice anything that is not right or you want a change made let me know via the contact form.
On the upside if you want to post an article and want to include a video (youtube/vimeo) or tweet just add the address only to a post and the new system will automatically embed it for you. There are lots of neat things about the new theme which should be good. Its going to take some time to get looking right again, as I will have to redesign and write new code. *sighs* Oh well.
